The difference that matters

Not a confinement lady. A confinement nurse.

Traditional confinement care focuses on comfort, cooking and cleaning. That has its place, but it is not clinical care. A HomeCareApps confinement nurse is a registered nurse who monitors your recovery the way a hospital ward would, catching problems early, at home, before they become emergencies.

A confinement lady offers

Traditional support

  • Non-clinical daily help
  • Often living in your home
  • Cooking, cleaning, general care
Your confinement nurse offers

Clinical recovery care

  • A registered nurse with active APC
  • Flexible visits on a credit system
  • Clinical checks for mother and baby
Home care confinement

Recover where you feel most at home.

You do not need to check into a confinement centre. With home care confinement, your recovery happens where you are most comfortable, in your own home, in your own bed, with your family close by.

Your confinement nurse comes to you, delivers the clinical care you need, and leaves you to rest in the place you know best.

How your care is scheduled

A care plan that follows your recovery.

Recovery and newborn risks are highest in the first days, so our recommended care plan front-loads your visits and eases off as you and baby stabilise: daily through the first week, then every other day, then tapering off as confinement goes on.

Your package comes as a set of credits. Follow the recommended plan, or adjust the timing to fit your household, holding visits back or clustering them early, whatever suits you. Visits are simply arranged in advance so your nurse is always reserved for you.

Good to know

Common questions

Do I need a confinement lady or a confinement nurse?
A confinement lady provides traditional, non-clinical support such as cooking and household help. A confinement nurse is a registered nurse who provides clinical postnatal care, monitoring your recovery and your baby's wellbeing. If you want clinical peace of mind during your confinement, a confinement nurse is the right choice.
What does a confinement nurse actually do?
She inspects and cleans your C-section or perineal wound, monitors your vital signs, assesses lochia, checks in on your mood, supports breastfeeding, and provides postnatal recovery massage. For your baby, she handles cord care, jaundice assessment, a body check and growth milestone review, and a bath session.
Can a confinement nurse work alongside my family or helper?
Yes. This is a visiting service, not live-in. If your parents, in-laws or a full-time helper are already at home, you may not want another live-in confinement lady taking a room for a month. Your confinement nurse visits on a schedule, provides the clinical care, and leaves, adding a medical layer without displacing the people already caring for you.
Is confinement care available for C-section recovery?
Yes. Wound inspection and cleaning and recovery monitoring after a C-section are a core part of what your confinement nurse provides.
How do the visit credits work?
One credit is one home visit of three hours. Your package includes a set number of credits used on a recommended care plan: visits daily through the first week, then every other day, then tapering as recovery progresses. You can adjust the timing to suit your household, but visits are arranged in advance so your nurse is reserved for you.
Do you provide confinement meals?
Yes. We provide postnatal confinement meals through our traditional meal partner as an optional add-on. Package prices are shown without meals; you can add meals when you reserve.
Which areas do you cover?
We currently serve the Klang Valley.
How much does a confinement nurse cost in Malaysia?
Pricing depends on the package length you choose. Reserve a slot and we will confirm the details for your dates.
Do I need to pay the full amount to book?
No. You only need to pay a 10% booking deposit and we will handle the rest for you. A deposit of 10% of the total package value is required at the point of booking to confirm your reservation. This booking deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance must be cleared one (1) month before your Estimated Due Date (EDD).
What are your operating hours?
Our confinement nurses provide visiting care from 7am to 7pm. This is a visiting service only. There is no overnight care and no live-in nurse.
